Becuase of the way that Social security numbers are assigned, it is easy to recognize where any given
social security number originated. Each state has its own 3 digit "area numbers" (first 3 SSN digits)
that it is assigned. The more numbers that are assigned in that state, the more 3 digit area numbers
that state has. The 2 middle digits are assigned on a need to basis in a predetermined order which helps
government agency easily keep track. The order is as follows.
ODD Numbers 01-09 will be assigned first
Followed by:
EVEN Numbers 10-98
Followed by:
EVEN Numbers 02-08
Followed by:
ODD Numbers 11-99
By this standard, you know that when a state assigns a number ending with XXX-99-9999, they will now start assigning an etirely new "area number" begining with XXX-01-0001
